APPRECIATING ART - loving it, liking it.....or at least justifying it!

In conjunction with the Women's Institute of Houston, join Wendy as she engages you in an unusual 4-session art appreciation class. This class is meant for art aficionados or novices to learn more about how to connect and analyze art. Course detail below. Registration is required.

About the event
The class schedule is below. Classroom sessions will be held at the The Women's Institute of Houston located at 2202 Avalon Pl, Houston, TX 77019.
Session 1 January 25th (classroom): Wendy will teach you her "TOAST Points" method for analyzing art and discuss various art periods/ISMs and why they're significant.
Session 2 February 1st (outing): Put your newfound talents to the test on a field trip to the Menil Collection. We will spend our class time in the Surrealism and Modern/Contemporary galleries.
Session 3 February 8th (classroom): Sculpture comes in many forms and mediums. We'll discuss why three-dimensional art compels one to connect in different ways than two-dimensional painting.
Session 4 February 15th (outing): We'll see many examples of sculpture as we tour the Cullen Sculpture Garden (weather permitting).
